  • Electrocomponents Global President Supply Chain honoured as a Moves Power Woman

Debbie Lentz recognised as an advocate for education and a champion of diversity and inclusion

London, UK, 24 November 2020 – Electrocomponents plc (LSE: ECM), a global omni-channel solutions partner for industrial customers and suppliers, has announced that Debbie Lentz, President Global Supply Chain, has been honoured by New York Moves Magazine as a recipient of a 2020 Power Women Award. Each year, the Power Women Awards recognise influential women from a broad spectrum of society who are making a positive difference. This year’s 15 finalists were revealed at a virtual gala preview on 20 November 2020.

Nominees were selected for their abilities, influence and success. Debbie’s dedication and drive in her chosen field of supply chain and more generally in business, were key to her nomination. As a role model for future generations of young women, Debbie has been acknowledged as leading by example and devoting considerable time to mentoring others.

Lindsley Ruth, Electrocomponents CEO, said: “Debbie is highly deserving of such an accolade and I’m proud to have her on my senior management team. It’s great to see that her leadership skills have been recognised, not only in respect of the amazing progress she has made transforming our supply chain but also through the fantastic work she has led in helping advance our diversity and inclusion agenda.”

On receiving her prestigious award, Debbie said: “I am truly honoured to have been selected as a Power Woman. As a supply chain professional, I’ve been the ‘only woman in the room’ for most of my career. While this may have been challenging, I have stood firm in my beliefs and actions to demonstrate that women deserve a seat at the table and bring unique skills to all organisations.

“One of the reasons I joined Electrocomponents three years ago was because I felt the organisation was on a journey to create a more diverse and inclusive culture. Not only do I lead our global supply chain function, but I also sponsor some of our inclusion initiatives as well as our corporate social responsibility agenda. In all these roles, I am a passionate advocate for equality, diversity and gender balance, creating a culture where every person in our business is empowered to bring their true selves to work each day. And I will always remain committed to helping mentor, support, elevate and advance my fellow female colleagues.”

Moves Magazine advocates women’s rights, social fairness and equal opportunity to its readers. The annual Power Women Gala is a celebration of women from all spheres who endorse these aims and make a difference.
