RS Group Ranks Fourth in FTSE 100 for Women on Boards

Women make up 55.6% of the organisation’s Board today

LONDON, UK, 29 FEBRUARY 2024 – RS Group plc (LSE: RS1), a global digitally-led provider of product and service solutions for industrial customers, has ranked joint fourth place in the FTSE 100 for Women on Boards, by the FTSE 100 Women Leaders Review, with women making up 55.6% of its Board today.

The Women Leaders Review is a UK-government-backed, business-led initiative which sets recommendations to improve the representation of women on the Boards and Leadership teams of the UK’s largest private companies. The Review announced that across FTSE 350 companies, 42% now have women on Boards, remarkable progress from 2011 where this figure was just 9.5%.

RS Group’s ranking cements the organisation’s ongoing commitment to ensure its teams reflect the customers, suppliers and communities it serves. The company currently sits 35th overall in the UK when considering female representation in Executive Committees and their direct reports at 36.9%, making strides towards its target to reach 40% female leaders in their wider senior leadership team by 2030. This is considerably above the UK industry average in manufacturing, where according to the Women in Manufacturing Initiative, only 23% of women are managers or senior leaders.

Chair of the RS Group plc Board, Baroness Rona Fairhead, said: “We strongly believe that gender representation on Boards should not be just about meeting diversity quotas. For our Board, we’ve seen the real benefits from harnessing the full potential of diverse talents, perspectives, and experiences to drive innovation, sound decision-making and sustainable success.”
