RS GROUP LISTED IN S&P GLOBAL SUSTAINABILITY YEARBOOK 2024

Inclusion reflects industry leadership in sustainability and significant progress by RS Group

LONDON, UK, 13 February 2024 – RS Group plc (LSE: RS1), a global provider of product and service solutions for industrial customers, today announced that for the first time it’s been included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook, positioned in the top 15% of companies in its industry.

The S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook is based on S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), an annual evaluation of companies’ sustainability practices. It is widely considered to be the world’s most comprehensive publication on corporate sustainability and aims to distinguish companies within their industries that have demonstrated strong progress in corporate sustainability. It only includes 733 companies out of the 9,000+ that took part in the CSA.

“We’re thrilled that RS has been included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for the first time,” said Andrea Barrett, VP Social Responsibility and Sustainability. “Our inclusion is down to our colleagues’ tireless efforts to deliver our 2030 ESG action plan and advance sustainability in our operations, packaging and logistics, while collaborating with our suppliers to offer our customers more sustainable products and service solutions. This is another significant milestone in our ESG journey, positioning us as a sustainability leader and setting us apart from our industry peers with our key stakeholders.”

RS Group’s 2030 ESG Action Plan was launched in November 2021 and focuses on four global goals: advancing sustainability; championing education and innovation; empowering our people; and doing business responsibly.

S&P Global has recognised the significant progress RS Group has made across its environmental, social, and governance and economic dimensions. Key progress points include:

    Environmental dimensions
58% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions since 2019/2020 driven by premises energy reductions, switching to renewable electricity and the introduction of electric and hybrid vehicles into its company car fleet.  .
