People development is embedded in our culture, with the Global Shared Business Service (GSBS) team in Foshan, China demonstrating how connected learning and career opportunities drive long-term success.
In 2025, GSBS was recognised by HRoot with the Best Practice of Human Resource Management Award, following its Outstanding Employer Award in 2024. This recognition reflects a sustained focus on building capability and enabling meaningful careers.
A key driver has been the regional Career Pathways Project, which created a fair and transparent framework linking recruitment, learning, performance, and promotion. By delivering 30+ learning programmes and supporting 70+ internal moves, the initiative has strengthened internal mobility, retention, and organisational resilience.
This is supported by Foshan’s Internal Trainer Club, which brings together 27 cross-functional colleagues dedicated to supporting peer learning and capability building. The group presents regular sharing sessions, which serve as a valuable platform for skills development and knowledge exchange.
The programme is informed by capacity mapping and performance analysis to ensure the sessions strengthen the agility and resilience of our people. Leadership Excellence sessions are designed for people managers and focuses on developing key capabilities such as leading change, building trust, and empowering people to deliver excellence. The Skills Accelerator programme is open to all employees and supports upskilling and cross-skilling in areas such as effective business writing, AI applications, lean methodology, and project management, supplemented by work-life balance sessions to support employee wellbeing.
With nearly 150 members of GSBS participating in 2025/26, the club reflects GSBS Foshan’s culture of continuous improvement and will continue to play a key role in developing talent to achieve our strategic business objectives.
