For the 2025/26 RS Formula Student Build Fund, we received our highest number of applications ever, from an inspiring 33 different countries around the world. The quality, creativity, and ambition shown by Formula Student teams this year was exceptional, making the judging process both exciting and incredibly tough.
While the applications were stronger than ever, we were able to award funding to 50 teams this year – the most teams ever sponsored through the RS Formula Student Build Fund. Each successful team will receive £1,000 worth of RS products, helping to support them through the design, build, and testing of their vehicles as they prepare for competition – not to mention helping them develop vital technical skills and the start of RS being by their side throughout their career.
At RS, we’re committed to supporting young engineers and technologists who are shaping a more sustainable, innovative future. The RS Formula Student Build Fund is about more than providing RS products – it’s about empowering talented teams with the tools, confidence, opportunities and technical skills they need to turn bold ideas into reality and solve real world problems. This is our biggest year yet, and I am so pleased that we have been able to extend our support to include 50 teams from 16 countries around the globe.
Formula Student continues to be a powerful platform for developing the next generation of engineers, bringing real-world problem solving, teamwork, and innovation to life and helping the next generation of industrial innovators to develop vital on-the-job technical skills before they head into industry. This work supports our vision to be first choice for all stakeholders. By strengthening the engineering pipeline for RS, our customers, and our suppliers, we ensure the industry has the skills needed to innovate, deliver, and grow sustainably.
Alongside the Build Fund, we’re also proud to continue our partnership with Formula Student UK, run by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), which continues to set the standard globally for student motorsport competitions and plays a vital role in developing future engineering talent.
Formula Student gives students a unique opportunity to apply their engineering knowledge in a real-world, high-pressure environment. Support from RS is vital in enabling teams to push boundaries, innovate, and gain the skills they need for successful careers in engineering.
